Golden Rule Club
In August of 2005, Trinity River Lumber Mill
created the Golden Rule Club as a means to assist employees with
personal
financial challenges that are a reality of day to day life. The
fund was initiated out of receipts from vending machines that
were placed in the mill facility and had started to generate excess
revenue.
Over the years the Golden Rule Club has assisted mill employees with
thousands of dollars worth of emergency expenses including
funeral expenses, cost of living expenses while a spouse was in the
hospital, medical bills and more. These are "gifts and
donations"
to the individual employees and no repay is required nor
expected. The club is also an IRS non-profit organization,
thereby making
all donations to the fund tax deductible.
Now, in the face of the mill fire of September 12th the Golden Rule
Club will be utilized to its fullest capacity. We urge
community
members, friends and colleagues and anyone with a connection to
Weaverville, Trinity County and the Trinity River Lumber Mill to make
a tax deductible donation to this fund.
Proceeds will be exclusively used to assist mill employees and their
families with day to day expenses until the mill is rebuilt.
Please make a donation today.
